"Just before turning 61, I was diagnosed with osteoporosis. My doctor suggested taking bisphosphonates to slow bone density loss; she also recommended weightlifting and taking calcium. I took her latter two suggestions but not the first (for many reasons), and started lifting free weights for the first time in my life, training with Adam. The results speak for themselves: two years later, without taking drugs, my bone density not only has not continued to decrease but actually has INCREASED everywhere, with my spine approaching the normal range, my hips no longer osteoporotic, and the top of my femur improving as well. Adam transformed me – a person with chronic neck and shoulder problems, who found it challenging to lift 70 lbs., into one whose deadlift PRs are over 200 lbs. now without pain or injury at age 63. I feel stronger, leaner, and more muscled, so that I have confidence when lifting heavy objects (even half a studio couch was no problem!). Adam’s deep knowledge of body mechanics and physiology enables him to help people of all ages with all sorts of physical issues. He meets you where you are and slowly but surely, by carefully providing you the detailed adjustments you need to work out safely and to overcome previous injury, you gain balance, strength, and agility. For Adam, it is a calling. For you, it can change your life. It changed mine. I am looking forward to being free of osteoporosis without drugs in the years ahead. Join me and go for it!"

– Emily Carter

Despite various challenges on the way, whether physical or mental, time constraints due to work, etc., not being able to perfectly adhere to the full PBT program (consisting of 3 roughly 1 hour long lifts per week), Emily still massively outperformed the vast majority of results for her demographic!

She was initially told by her doctor 2 years ago that she had developed osteoporosis and her options were to go on bone loss drugs and/or begin learning to resistance train, preferably with a trainer for safety and efficacy. The problem I have with these bone loss drugs, particularly bisphosphonates (which her doctor recommended to her), is that they shut the entire bone upkeep system down. Despite being 10 years post-menopause, I strongly advised her against taking the drugs, she agreed, and now we have proved it is never too late!

At a BW of only 145 & age 63, Emily significantly improved, from never having weight lifted consistently and having a max of around ~70 lbs, to being able to deadlift 215 lbs . That and her other lifting numbers increasing dramatically over time (as documented on my profile) are the direct catalyst of her BMD increases.

Before PBT she had very little lifting experience if any, so these PRs are essentially improvements from 0, drastic increases for every muscle group and conceivable way we move:

  • Hexbar Deadlift 1RM is 215 lbs at a BW of only 145
  • Bench Press - 90 lbs
  • Sumo Deadlift - 205 lbs
  • Shoulder Press -28 lbs in each hand
  • Dumbell Row - 55 lbs for both arms (performed 1 at a time)

Osteoporosis and Diabetes (Adult Onset/Type II ONLY ofc) are full REVERSIBLE conditions! If you are diagnosed as having one of these diseases or their precursors, DO NOT LOSE HOPE. These are issues of lifestyle in almost every case. Meaning you can fix them yourself drug free! One example of which will be shown below and in the above slides.
